catch up

I havent been able to log onto the blog the last couple of days so sorry for the absence.

There realy isn tmuch to report on since I have just been working such long hours. Although I have been writing down recipes and the people are amazed by my french although I am sure I am not being gramtically correct. OH WELL! But they understand what I am saying adn I am at least able to formulate sentences in order to get things.

Today we got a nice surprised when we came to work as it was literally pouring inside!! YUPPERS!! somewhere in the building a pipe burst and caused a lot fo damage to the restaurant. So we closed a section of the restaurant then, and shut the water to the building so tenants were coming to us asking for water.

Its my weekend now so I hope the weather holds up, because I want to go on a bike ride to the big park here. As well as Beaujolaise Neaveau (however its spelled) arrives wednesday night.

Just a bit of background. Beaujolais wine is the only wine that is released 6 weeks after the grapes are harvested. ( it can not be released earlier as that is the soonest as french law permits). It is basically fermented in the grape which allows it to be made into wine so quickly. It is appearntly not the greatest tasting wine (accoring to the french) but its the experience as tehy ahve been doing this for a very long time.

But its basically like a show. They bring the barrels of beaujolais down the river soane by boat then role the wine through the streets of lyon to Place Bellecour. They hoist the barrels up and at the stroke of midnight the taps are cracked open and its turned into a massive party, celebrated all over the country. Pretty cool, and its something i am looking forward to thats forsure.

otherwise I am just going to relax wake up when i wake up etc. if anyone has any ideas tell them to me...lol
